Six years of being sugar-free

From simple cookies, cakes, and muffins to decadent birthday cakes and festive treats, our healthy sugar-free desserts will surely bring joy to your taste buds.

These recipes were created during the past six years after I quit sugar. With such delicious alternatives, I don’t feel the need to have traditional desserts anymore.

Are you looking for sugar-free desserts without artificial sweeteners?

You are in the right place. Although I occasionally use very small amounts of my favorite low-calorie natural sweeteners like monk fruit, stevia mixed with erythritol, or allulose, I will never simply replace sugar with an artificial or natural sweetener. The other day I saw a ‘keto’ recipe where the creator invited people to add one cup of sweetener to replace the original one cup of sugar. This is the main reason many people experience aftertaste or digestive issues.

This is a NO-NO in my world. Sometimes I add 2 or 3 tablespoons for a 10-serving dessert.

And I never use artificial sweeteners like aspartame or sucralose or very high glycemic sweeteners like agave syrup.

To achieve natural sweetness, I use smart combinations of healthy ingredients that are naturally sweet (like tigernut flour, sweet potatoes, nuts, and coconut) and minimal amounts of natural, low-calorie sweeteners, like inulin powder, monk fruit, or yacon syrup. On rare occasions, I use small amounts of dry dates or figs. I don’t use any kind of sugar, including coconut sugar.

Most of my sugar-free desserts are ok for people with diabetes, but you must check your reaction with a glucose monitor to understand how that particular dessert affects your blood sugar.
