Wash the split red lentils with cold water. Combine the cleaned red lentils, water, and bay leaves in a pressure cooker. Cook under high pressure for 10 minutes.

Heat the sesame oil in a small saucepan and cook the onion and the spices.

Add the spice mixture to the lentils and cook for 5 more minutes. Add miso, garnish with fresh cilantro and lemon juice, and serve. Enjoy.
