- Split red lentils - Bay leaves - Sesame oil - Cumin, fennel and mustard   seeds - Onion, garlic and ginger - Garam masala - Turmeric - Ground coriander - Curry leaves - Cayenne pepper - Salt and pepper - Miso paste - Fresh coriander - Lime or lemon juice

Wash the split red lentils with cold water. Combine the cleaned red lentils, water, and bay leaves in a pressure cooker. Cook under high pressure for 10 minutes.

Prep the lentils

Heat the sesame oil in a small saucepan and cook the onion and the spices. 

Make tadka

Add the spice mixture to the lentils and cook for 5 more minutes. Add miso, garnish with fresh cilantro and lemon juice, and serve. Enjoy.
